What if we could change one thing we wanted to...daily?! I'm not a New Year's resolution maker. To me, it seems counter-productive to wait for one day every three hundred and sixty-five, to decide that the first of January is the magical moment to turn over a new leaf. More often than not, those who make resolutions have trouble keeping them for long, if at all. There is a lack of commitment.
So, is that the reason I don't make them? Am I afraid of commitment? Negative. I make them any day I choose. Sometimes, I choose a day and it doesn't work out, life gets in the way. No worries. I can wake up to a Happy New Day! It is this thought, this truth, that every day can be The Beginning of something I want to start, something I want to change, or something I want to complete that makes me all right with whatever path my life takes.
For me, one of the most exciting New Days is upcoming. Our family is moving from Midland, Texas, to Longview, Texas, March second. It is there that I will get to begin my next great adventure.
While living in Midland, I had the opportunity to be hired as a second photographer for weddings by Angela Free at Studio 1401. There were two others who photographed weddings with me at the studio, Jenna Petty and Cindy Pando. They have all been teachers as I gleaned knowledge from them every chance I had. Before working at the studio I had ventured into photography, as more than a hobby the previous year with portraits of newborns, children, maternity, families, and pets. While at the studio, I also photographed bridals, engagements, weddings, seniors, headshots, magazine ads, and corporate events.
Now that I'm taking the lead as a business owner again, I can't tell you how excited I am to be a part of the photographic community in Longview! As the date gets closer, I'll continue blog posts telling you more about me. I'd love for people there to interact and tell me more about themselves and the area.
Until we meet,
Zoe
