Recently I scheduled a session with a potential client for my behind the scenes. She had to back out at the last minute which meant I had to scramble for a new model. Fortunately I was able to get a lovely replacement. I"m so pleased with these images that my friend Amanda Dempsey took of us. It was an interesting time together. I had my make-up done and met with a new friend, Danny, to borrow his 1935 Dodge for a walk away portrait. I decided to wear some high heels for that image and they're double strapped, so those took some time to get on and take off. (you can see that image on my home page when you scroll halfway down) When I went to put my comfy shoes on afterwards, they were crawling with ants. (oh the joys)
After Danny left, Amanda and I went to another location to photograph me alone, but it didn't work out according to plan and my model texted that she was at our meeting place. We loaded up and headed over to where she was. By this time I was already glistening due to the heat and the hurriedness. Fortunately my hair was up and I was in a sleeveless dress. Unfortunately for me, the dress I chose was adorable, but lined, so it was heavy.
My patient and sweet model, Carla had on a great business outfit. The red and navy looked so good on her. She also had a white jacket to give a little addition and change the look of the images, which was just right for this session. We had just met, which is not the norm. I would normally meet my client in advance so we can get to know one another a little bit. I'll have important questions about them to discover what types of images they need and how to best convey those. We'll discuss what outfit changes and/or items that should be brought with them to get the most out of their session.
For Carla, we had a brief conversation over the phone and she nailed it. When I started photographing, it was obvious that she was comfortable in who she is and she knew she looked good. I gave little instruction to guide her into some poses, but she really did make my work easy. Sometimes I suggest movement by my hand, sometimes I do the pose and ask my client to mirror me, and there are times when I use the words left and right.
After several images in one outfit and several mosquito bites later, we changed outfits (yes, I changed too - it was needful. lol). Another great outfit, Carla chose a navy and white striped dress. Her heels were perfect for it with a strapped ankle. I'll be sharing my images of her soon. I'm just too excited to share these behind the scenes with you now!
While a Personal Branding Session does include headshots and outfit changes depending on your package, it also offers so much more. I'll be rolling out more information in the next week. I've also got news to share that if you don't follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/zoe_martin_photography/ you don't even know about yet.
Thank you to @amandadempseymodels for meeting me and asking what I needed for this session. It was great having you there and as I told you earlier, didn't even realize that you were there often times because you were worked so seamlessly around us. My first behind the scenes in the books.
