Recently I had my personal branding session done. The idea was to get some behind the scenes of me working with a client after images of myself. The model I had chosen had something come up a few days before, so I needed a replacement last minute. Fortunately for me, I had not one, but two ladies say they could take her place. Having never met, they trusted the images on my website, which is a compliment.
Today's blog post is featuring Jalesa, one of the models I shot that day. Ms. Punctuality arrived before our scheduled time, so she was there to watch me work with Carla first. I don't think I've ever had a client watch me work with another client before. It now makes me wonder what she was thinking. I should have asked.
The mosquitos were thick that night. Imagine. In Midland, we had mosquitos, but not like Longview. Midland had rare times of rain and there were no rivers or lakes within two hours distance, so the one nature preserve was the only ongoing stagnant water source. Apparently mosquito's gestation cycle isn't long because bird baths and sometimes puddles can accommodate them just fine. (science lesson free of charge) Longview on the other hand, has water all around. There's fishing holes within fifteen minutes of our house. Poor Carla was being eaten alive, so Jalesa got back in her car for a bit.
When I was ready for her, we moved to another area nearby. It was within walking distance, so we talked along the way. Jalesa is the Administrative Secretary for the Region VII Education Center. I imagine she's just as sweet and kind at work as she was during our session. Some people are either raised right or learn over time that life is just better when one is kind.
Not only is she kind, but someone else is sweet on her. She was recently engaged. When I asked about the engagement her eyes sparkled. This lucky guy must have known he needed to get a ring on her finger before somebody else stole her away.
Her natural smile is lovely. And she smiles a lot, so photographing her was easy. I do like to get a natural laugh in, so I had to capture one of those too.
Jalesa chose to wear classic business attire. Black is a business staple and it looks really good on her, especially when paired with that ruffled rose blouse. She put icing on the cake when she wore pearls. To me, they are the epitome of class. It was simple to remove the jacket to get an entirely different look. Moving to a different background gave yet another option.
We were able to get several images in about twenty minutes time. I have used her lovely face on a couple of advertisements and placed her on my websites home page as well. It was my pleasure to meet her and to be able to capture her business headshot for her. Thank you, Jalesa, for trusting me to do this for you.
Blessings,
Zoe
