Almost two years ago I started my business as a transplant from west Texas. If you're a native east Texan you know that being from "out of town" puts me at a disadvantage to begin with. I had to network like crazy so people would recognize my name. While I do run into people that know my name now, many of them still ask me what types of photography I shoot.
I don't mind telling them that I'm not the average photographer who shoots all different kinds of portrait related images. I do get a little passionate when I explain that Brand Photography gives you leverage over other people in the same market as you because you're showing up as the face of your brand. You're giving people a reason to want to get to know you. If you have similar interests, behaviors, or values, they'll like you. That's when they begin to trust you and then you've got a loyal follower who will want to work with you or refer you to others who need your product or service.
Brand Photography isn't all I offer though.
Headshots can be traditional or non-traditional with me. I also offer in-studio or on location. You can have them done in your office, your home, or even outside. One of the ways I've started to differentiate myself from other Headshot photographers is to include complimentary hair and makeup with every headshot session. That service is available for both men and women. All the news anchors, male and female, get treated like royalty every time they show up on set. Now you can enjoy a makeover before your Headshot. Score.
Product Photography involves more than taking a picture of an item. Lighting, composition, background, even what the product sits on or is photographed with are all details that can make your images stand apart. I've accumulated props to help make product images unique. If I don't have your brand aesthetic in my entourage of choices, I'll find a way to bring brand awareness through your images by asking detailed questions during our consultation.
Food Photography is similar to Product Photography. The way light hits an item can add just the right detail to a plate. Larger budgets can include a food stylist, which can completely take the photo to a new level. I recently learned that there is a person specifically hired to make dollops on top of food. That's that person's one job. Seriously. I do food styling myself usually and I have so many plates, bowls, and utensils to work my magic with. One of my favorite food props is a set of silverware with the Eifel Tower on it that I purchased in Canton last year. It is waiting for just the right image to be used with.
Event Photography includes any kind of event you can think of. Except for large weddings and Quinceneras. I shot weddings for five years in west Texas; they're not my favorite. I'm happy to shoot small intimate weddings though. Christmas parties, fundraisers, awards ceremonies and graduations are all some of the events that come to mind. While I can't give all my work away, I do offer a discount for nonprofits needing a photographer. That's one way I like to give back.
Glamour Sessions are something that I've just started offering in January. People. I wish I had done them sooner. They're actually the reason I include hair and makeup in my Headshot Sessions. I saw the way a woman's confidence soared when she knew she looked good and I wanted to give that to every woman! Everyone who comes in for a Glamour Session is offered complimentary hair and makeup. I also offer a small styling closet to choose from. I'm even considering offering a session exchange for some unique boutique type items, so sign up for my 1,000 Likes Giveaway to stay up to date on that.
The drawing will be held next Thursday, February 27th at 9:00 p.m. CST. Find out more details by clicking here.
Videography Services are also something new. After shooting a few I was hooked. Video can leverage your SEO algorithms, which can definitely help you gain traction over your competitors. They are tailored to your vision. We go over all the possibilities in our consultation where I help fuel your ideas as we talk more. My first videos were behind the scenes of hair and makeup artists, a maternity photographer, a barber stylist, and a cookie baker. I'll be sharing the next ones for a Chiropractor, a Naturopathic doctor, and a violin duet who play for weddings soon.
All that to say, I look forward to finding out who the winner will be and sharing their session with everyone.
Blessings,
Zoe
