Remember when I said I was counting down the days till I got to start my business in Longview? Well, even though our family and some of our belongings will be arriving March the first, it turns out that not all our stuff will be unpacked till the fifth. That puts my starting date off a few more days. {{sigh}}
When my husband and I started discussing the possibility of me jumping into this new venture again, I explained my desire like this: in cartoons when the giant picks up Donald Duck, or whichever character was attempting to high tail it away, and his little legs are running through thin air – that's me! I'm so anticipating getting off the ground that when I get to put my feet down, whoever is behind me is going to eat my dust!
I get tingles thinking about how much effort I've already put into it and how much is needed. I am going to host a shindig to get the ball rolling. In the works, I envision future clients and friends coming through my front door to meet me and see the studio. They'll meet other business owners and make new connections themselves. I'll even offer an opportunity for headshots that same night. Of course, there will be refreshments and great conversations.
In the event that we get more RSVP's then the space can handle, I might need a larger location. Hmmm, that might not be a bad thing. Maybe a potential client would open their doors to this possibility.
Since I'm still new to the area, I need recommendations for this small catering event. Please suggest vendors that might be interested in helping me with this Grand Opening soiree.
Stay tuned for more details so you don't miss it!
Until we meet,
Zoe
