I've photographed weddings for more than four years. In that time, my children have heard all kinds of stories. There's no single wedding that is exactly like another. No one wants to have an identical ceremony. They all strive for uniqueness. During this time, my teens have overheard the stress that goes into planning and how things sometimes don't go according to plan. One of my boys has decided that the money spent on an elaborate wedding could be better spent on a honeymoon or buying necessities. While he's got a good head on his shoulders, I've explained that decision might need to be done with the other party...which he has yet to meet.
This sweet and simple wedding was ideal. The bride and groom, her father, the officiant, a gathering of close friends and family - that was all they needed. It was my pleasure to be able to step in and fill the role of photographer to capture this special moment.
If you've heard it once, you'll hear it from me a thousand times, I LOVE red hair. And Hailey's red hair is gorgeous! She had a braid across the side that tucked behind her soft curls and then had a wreath of babies breath haloed around her crown. It was simply lovely. The off-white bohemian style spaghetti strap dress had lace detail across the bodice and trailed slightly over her shoes. While I didn't share the close up image of the shoes here, I can tell you that they were special. A wise bride, she chose flats, but then she added lace and flowers to them so intricately, I think she could sell them to other brides and make a little side money. The bouquet she carried was bright pops of color. It had sunflowers, pink roses, and small white chrysanthemums wrapped with burlap and lace.
The groom wore a pink shirt with black buttons along with a grey vest. The striped diagonal tie was grey with shades of pink and white across it. He wore a yellow handkerchief to accent her sunflowers.
As the sun was setting, the ceremony began. He smiled from ear to ear as she was walked down the aisle by her father. That's one of the most special parts of the ceremony; seeing his response. He confided in me before the ceremony, that he was nervous. They'd been dating for four years, so they were sure that they'd found "the one". Her dainty ring was small enough to fit perfectly inside his as you can see from the ring shot.
If the images didn't show the house at all, you'd never know this was a private residence. The greenery behind the arch perfectly accented the setting. The sun peeking over the tall trees was golden. Everything turned out just right.
Thank you Nancy and Hailey for allowing me to capture this day for you. I hope you look back on these images and smile remembering every moment.
Warmly,
Zoe
